Kim Hays comes to us from Amarillo, Texas where he serves as Department Chair for Industrial Maintenance Technology, Welding, and Nondestructive Testing at Amarillo College. He has degrees from West Texas A & M University, Amarillo College, and joint Doctorate from Texas A&M and Texas Tech Universities.
His background includes 12 years as electrician, pump, and generator technician, and 6 years as plumber, refrigeration, and mechanical contractor. He has been at Amarillo College for the past 15 years. He is currently responsible for academic and continuing education courses electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical technicians; academic and continuing education for welding; and introductory NDT, metallurgy, and weld inspection for nondestructive testing technicians. He has also performed Mechanical training for Cargil Incorporated and NDT courses at Pantex in the Amarillo area.
